HELP : dbS Test Pedigree

TEST PEDIGREE is a useful tool to pre-screen stud selection. 

HOW TO Generate a Test Pedigree:

  1. STEP 1 – name
    1. this is just the fake name of your test puppy
  2. STEP 2 – sex
    1. this is just the fake sex of your test puppy
  3. STEP 3 – sire
    1. “enter a search string here and click … button”
      1. DO NOT type out the name of your stud here, instead
      2. enter a search string; be brief to increase your result odds (i.e. kennel name, singular), “ridgewood” , or “fair wind” ; this increases your wild-card; then,
    2. click on the button with the … 
      1. results will appear in the next field; click on the down arrow and then, 
    3. scroll through results and select the name you are looking for (don’t skip this step even if it is the first result)
  4. STEP 4 – dam
    1. repeat steps above for sire
  5. STEP 5 – number of generations
    1. select between 3 and 9 generations
    2. no need to select database as there is only the one for Shiloh Shepherds
  6. STEP 6 – click on button titled “trial mating”

What you’ll see in the results:

  • registered name with conformation & working titles
  • call name, date of birth
  • color, variety
  • photo
